- ARENA SUNDAY-Our normal worship services will be combined this Sunday as we host horse trainer Byron Garwood at the Rocking J Arena. We will have a potluck dinner at 12 MT followed by a colt training demonstration and testimony. This will be an awesome chance to learn more about working with horses as well as what it means to follow Jesus.
- LIFE CHANGING! That is how I would have to describe this week. I am now a DIABETIC! There are so many implications and connotations to that label. It isn’t a label I wanted, but it is a status that has been given to me at this time in my life. Many things will have to change. I can no longer eat whatever I want whenever I want and not pay for it later. I have to check my blood sugar levels regularly. I’m not a big fan of needles :-) but I may have to give myself insulin shots.
James 1:2-4 says “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” (James 1:2–4, NLT)
What this is saying is that it is actually a gift to go through hard times because it makes us more like Jesus and draws us closer to Him. This is the greatest treasure in life that we could ever gain and I think I’m realizing that in a new way. The phrase, “Jesus is enough,” has a new significance because I feel it in action. In the midst of so many things being stripped away, God’s faithfulness can actually be seen and felt. His power is made perfect in weakness!!
- Bible Conference at the Berean Bible Church-Bruce Scott from “Friends of Israel” will be speaking on Israel’s fight for survival, and where Israel and our nation fits in God’s prophetic plan.
