“He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.” (Psalm 18:19, ESV)
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1, ESV)
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4, ESV)
These verses point out that God delights in us and this stirs our hearts to return that love. If we are “in Christ” God has intense affection and appreciation for us that is unconditional. We can’t earn His love but we can thank Him by loving Him back! My prayer is that joy fills our hearts the rest of this week because we know God loves us and is proud of us through Christ. I also pray that motivates us to please Him through a walk that is worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1).
Most of our weekly activities have already happened or are taking place this evening. Here is what is coming up:
- Women’s Bible Study (South) is meeting at Evalyn’s on Thursday morning.
- Winter Baptism! This is something new for our church. Our oldest daughter, Annalise is turning 9 on Sunday. Her desire is to be baptized on her birthday and we want to help honor her obedience to make a public profession of faith. The Wegner’s have graciously allowed us to do this in their hot tub! We will travel over to their place following our morning service and have the baptism. The tentative schedule is to leave the gym for the baptism at about 12:15 CT. We know this is short notice but we wanted to let as many as possible know about this.
- The church leadership team is hoping to meet soon to look ahead toward Resurrection Sunday and the rest of the church calendar for the coming spring and summer. Let any of the elders know of things you would like to bring up or bring to our attention.
Have a great rest of the week,
